Asian Arts on the Côte d'Azur

Posted by on in Provence-Côte d'Azur

In preparation for our upcoming trip to Vietnam, and to get new material for my (rather occasional) series Museum Mondays, we recently visited the Musée des Art Asiatiques (Asian Arts Museum) in Nice en famille.

The Asian Arts Museum is easily managed with children as it’s very small - no chance of overwhelming them with culture overload - and it is located on the edge of one of Nice’s best parks, Parc Phoenix, making a combined trip possible (or a bribe to go to the park after the museum…see where I’m heading?)

So many of my good intentions for the blog slip during summer.  Mid June to mid July is by far the busiest time of year for me workwise on top of which I find it hard to write with the kids around and so many fun things to do.  Then we take off for our own holidays (a road trip moving from location to location) and even in this age of 24 hour connectedness technology isn’t infallible; I’ve been without wifi for more days than with over the last month meaning I have barely blogged!  So I have completely failed to keep up my Museum Monday series.  In a bid to rectify the situation I asked 5 local Côte d’Azur/Provence bloggers to share with me their favourite museums.  And here they are:

Today I popped into two little museums in the centre of Grasse while in town for other reasons. I’d been to the Musée provençal du costume et du bijou before but I’d never been to the Musée Fragonard almost next door.  Both are tiny and both are free, so with a few minutes to spare I thought I could get some fodder for my Museum Monday series.
