I must have been there too, but don't remember seeing it. I'll have to ask Catherine.

Good to hear of young kids playing chess. My little one quite likes it though I couldn't honestly say he thinks about playing really.

Grand Master in the making? Tom plays chess and started young and is now better than Simon. He has that sort of brain that can see so many moves ahead - jut like this lad I suspect. Do you play?

No I have never had the patience for chess, but the teen used to play (he's too "teen" right now but suspect he might get back into it one day) and the little one can play but isn't into it in a big way.

    Gorgeous check-mates photo!
Still giggling Phoebe at the thought of you driving the Grand Prix circuit in Melbourne!

It was just a passing candid shot, I have no idea how serious or not it was but it looked interesting enough for a photo.

    What a fab shot.
I'm quite impressed that the little boy can play chess, it's quite a lot to learn for a little one :) x

They are total strangers so I have no idea if he could play or not, but both my boys learnt young. It's amazing how young brains pick things up.

I hadn't thought of B&W Vicky, maybe I'll have a play around. Thanks for the idea.

You're never to young to learn to play chess, I wonder if he'll let her win? I doubt it with the concentration going on! What a quaint street, I love outdoor cafes.

It's interesting that you see this child as a girl. I see a boy but I have no idea, it was just a passing shot!

Gosh it never occurred to me that you wouldn't have café life in Saudi...I guess women certainly aren't out and about!

That's one of the things that caught my eye Tim, the age gap.
